Started as a side project at Vercel in 2022 to solve an internal need: sharing links on social platforms with beautiful Open Graph images. Hit #1 on Hacker News, trended on GitHub, grew entirely through word of mouth. Steven Tey, former Senior Developer Advocate at Vercel, left in late 2023 to go full-time on it. The codebase is fully open source. What started as link shortening has evolved into a full attribution platform: short links, QR codes, conversion tracking, affiliate programs. Used by Framer, Perplexity, Superhuman, Twilio. Steven ships constantly, with past projects like One Word Domains and ShareGPT both taking off. The team is small, fully remote, and moves fast.
